If you are around Oakleigh looking for a good brunch and coffee, look no further. I’d recommend this place if you are not interested to go to Vanilla that side. Just remember is at the corner as the entrance is not exactly obvious so you might miss it.

Their food presentation is off the charts and so tasty, it’s just magnificent. Love the souvlakis they make. Been eating it for years since they were in the small corner. Good price for the quality and portion.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. Never disappointed, we often eat here when we have friends or groups.
Will keep coming as long as it always remains this delicious.
One downside is the meat/pita bread is not served as hot as it was several years ago, which affects the flavor quite a bit. However the same can be said for every other souvlaki and kebab shops I’ve been to in the last 10 years. They are not the only ones doing it.

We were booked upstairs so the first pleasant surprise was an elevator that took the baby’s pram. Being spaced Covid 19 compliant ensured a private, quiet dining experience. All meals were served in a timely manner whilst presented, flavorsome and very generous. The staff were friendly, efficient and helped ensure we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A dessert takeaway (as we couldn’t fit it in at the time) resulting in a tasting platter so we didn’t have to decide, completed a wonderful experience.

My husband and I had calamari and squid for dinner. They were both scrumptious. The calamari was so tender with yummy simple flavours. Our waitress was so lovely. We wanted the yummy bougatsa for dessert but they didn’t have any in the cabinet. So the waitress informed us that there was a bougatsa baking in the oven and if we were willing to wait a few minutes we could have one straight out of the oven. We certainly liked that idea and ultimately had the best ever bougatsa. Also, I like how Vanilla make my coffee exactly how I want it. Admittedly I am a coffee snob when it comes to drinking macchiatos. But Vanilla certainly know their coffees. I went back there for breakfast and had the most amazing house baked banana and walnut bread. I never tasted banana and walnut bread like the one at Vanilla. A pity I don’t live in Melbourne. The only complaint I do have is it can get very noisy inside at dinner. But at least they have comfortable outdoor seating. Having breakfast was nice and quite. Definitely will keep going back whenever I am visiting Melbourne.

After the disaster with my meal at Kalimera, I was still hungry and walked into Vanilla.service quick, attentive, polite, the waiter was an Australian kid who knew the pronunciations of the cakes in Greek, really impressive. The cakes were fresh, and tasted the way they looked. This place could show some of the larger cafes in Carlton a thing or two.

Ohh we walked in and Loula was so helpful and informative. We got the box of 6 but ate 4 indoors and she packed 2 to take home. The coffee and milkshakes superb. There’s a vegan kind of brownie and original yeast type and a cake type. I had the custard with the syringe. Fun and friendly.

The Oakleigh Doughnut Co (TODCO) is Artisan doughnut shop which is located just 4 mins walk from Oakleigh station,
you won’t miss this colorful building who sells doughnuts till 10PM – perfect to satisfy your night doughnut cravings.
The doughnuts are amazing and pretty good size for the price you pay ($24 for 6 or $4.5 each).
TODCO offers a lot of options from vegan choices or not in yeast based (Y) or cake based (C) doughnuts.
The presentation of the doughnuts are amazing. After sampled everything, we found that we love their yeast based more especially the filled ones –
it tends to be fluffier and bouncy which we prefer.
We randomly choose our favorites based on the names:
*Nutella Snow (Y) – nutella filled and dusted with snow sugar. My most favorite one.
*Strawberry Cheesecake (Y) – creamy cheese filled doughnuts with strawberry icing and biscuits crumble. How cute this doughnut looks? And boy the taste is amazing although somehow the icing makes the overall a tad too sweet for us. This is something we would definitely buy again!
*Galakdough (Y) – mix of the classic sugar snow doughnuts with spiced sugar syrup in a small pipette and vanilla custard. This is also our favourite love their smoooooth custard and it is not too sweet at all.
*Sour Cherry (Y) – sour cherry glazing with vanilla sugar on top. This one is very unique and different and prove doughnuts can still be as good although it comes a bit tangy.
*Life’s a Picnic (Y) – chocolate, caramel and house made picnic crunch
*Brownies (C, V) – The vegan brownie is truly amazing. We can’t tell if it is vegan and so fragrant too.
The service was fab! Friendly staff even helped me to make my box looks better with the great color placement #allforthegram.
Great place and it provides spacious seating both inside and out with great coffee too.
Truly recommended place to hangout with your loved ones.

Best donuts in Melbourne!
One of my favourite things is the world are donuts, so I am always on the hunt for delicious vegan pieces of heaven! These donuts are hands down the best donuts I’ve had since going vegan… if not the best I’ve ever had. (Big call I know – but oh my gosh, it’s true!)
I got the 4 vegan ones on offer – Strawberry, OG (glazed), Cinnamon and the Oreo Creme – as well as the Strawberry Cheesecake and Peanut Butter for my non-vegan friends!
Light and fluffy, fresh and delicious and a super generous size for the price too. Sometimes being vegan you get poor substitutes for foods you used to love – but you definitely couldn’t be disappointed by these… vegan or not!
The lady who helped me was super lovely and helpful (and helped me with my donut choices!) – I learnt so much about their donuts and I was impressed to hear they’re all made on site every day.
They have indoor or outdoor seating and are located right near the restaurant area of Eaton Mall. They also do takeaway coffee and ice-cream which sounded amazing too! Would definitely travel down for these again… or detour on the way home from anywhere!

Best Donuts ever, for real
I am not a sweet tooth not at all but these donuts got me addicted and ruined my diet.
Jokes aside, these are actually the best donuts I have ever had and tried quite a few. Freshly made with a great eye for detail and so so tasty. The Passion Fruit Meringue Pie and the Galakdough are by far my favorite. The stuff is always super friendly as well.
Almost forgot to mention the cute and bright interior!

Manuel and Alex are so lovely! Always friendly and always with a smile. The great banter here makes this Just Italy so special. Staff are warm and the food (And alcohol) here warms you even more. The best dish we have had was on the specials a seafood soup? It was superb! Don’t be shy and ask the staff what is the best, you will get looked after. The tiramisu here is on cue and there is nothing better than limoncello to wash down the trap after a good meal. Booking is neccessary for the bigger groups. I wouldn’t recommend babies or young children as there isn’t much space for baby chairs etc.

As a milk tea lover, the milktea and lychee was amazing. The milktea was very aromatic and topped with the lychees and white pearls, they were very sweet and pleasing to smell.

We were lucky to try the beautiful watermelon cake, delicious choc opera, and Taro Pearl with Mochi Box. These cakes were like spongy cushions of happiness and had the finest texture.
We fell in love with their watermelon cake which had a base of almond cookies layered with pandan cream. And if you love dark chocolate as much as we do, you will surely enjoy every bit of that choc opera.

This review is for the made to order cakes and not the cafe, but all you need to know is that the cakes here are delicious. First time trying their cakes was when a friend shared a slice of the Fruity & Cone Cake. Airy and soft chiffon cake, paired with a dreamy vanilla frosting and adorned with strawberries and blueberries. Bright and fresh flavours, and beautiful texture.
Second time was the durian cake. This was just as amazing, maybe even better than the fruity cake. Because durian! Fluffy sponge cake, layered with durian flesh and frosting, this was wonderfully moreish yet light on palate due to the pillowy soft sponge cake.
Custom made cakes as well as daily cakes are available, and you must check out the gorgeous designs. Definitely makes you want to celebrate every day with cake.

Was my friend’s birthday and she was kind enough to share me some of her BD cake! When ordering cake from iCake, you can choose the flavors you wanted. In addition to the usual cake flavors we can normally find, they had so many delicious Asian flavors like taro, mochi, watermelon, peach, French chestnut, milk tea, matcha, passionfruit, Oreo and much more! Can’t even list all of them!
The durian cake was very delicious. The cake was so soft and fluffy, yet moist and not dry since it might have soaked some of the moisture from the durian cream layer. The durian cream inside consisted of durian flesh as well, which was literally the highlight. It was not too overpowering, but the durian flavor was strong to the right point–perfect. One of the best durian cakes considering the cuteness, flavors, and price.

I love that the cafe’s open late so I can come after work and with a group of mates you can make a night of it. Jaffles are a little hit or miss depending on your tastes (I love the pot roast and chilli veggies ones myself) but they’re not expensive and the menu is expanding over time. The owner is a fun guy who’s passionate about gaming as a social thing but also makes creative things beyond the bar and an amazing iced latte… actually, I want one now.

Monsieur Arnaud’s sourdough all-rye bread is stunning. No caraway, which can overwhelm the flavour, sufficiently salted, moist and a modest tang. Crust is firm. Wonderful with cheese.
The croissants are also excellent. Friendly staff. This is a real find for the Oakleigh-Huntingdale area. And so important to support our talented bakers and chefs at local level during the pandemic!

Italian Touch is an Italian cafe/restaurant with delicious authentic cuisine and great coffee! Whether you’re on the go and are in need of a take away coffee, or eat in with friends with family, the service is efficient and welcoming. I love how cosy the restaurant feels too, unlike some of the packed out places along that street. It is so conveniently close to the Sunday Oakleigh Market too! Would definitely recommend to a friend!
